looking for monetary
gain in the quickest way
like the post office
trumping the pony express
which is then succeeded by the
internets finess
like video killed the radio star
it wouldn't happen if the telegraph
didn't raise the bar
no ones articulate
unless theres a phone in their hand
in that case then they have time for a text to plan
they say the grass is greener on the other side
but only when its been
artificially fertilized
people keep praying going out of their minds
but I'm so deep in mine I can barely unwind
swinging hammers 9 to 5
that cookie cutter we all strive for
that slice of bread we all die for
just to leave no trail behind
worried sick over what
smoking roaches and cigarette butts
the daily grind had ground me up
because I'm 6 feet under
dead from the neck up
